Accounting Specialist- TalentZok

FULL DESCRIPTION : Our client is seeking a financial professional to join their Financial Management team in a role that covers bookkeeping as well as analysis. . This position will be accountable for an array of daily transactions, with an emphasis on accounts payable and participation in monthly closing of the general ledger. 

The selected candidate will be responsible for: 

• Management of Accounts Payable functions, including: 
  • Daily entry of payments in accounting and treasury system in a timely manner
  • Resolution of accounts payable inquiries from vendors 
  • Coordination across internal teams, especially Procurement and Inventory, to ensure invoice accuracy and timeliness of invoicing and payments 
  • Daily posting of payments received from wholesale customers
• Support of Accounts Receivable functions, including: 
  • Coordination with the wholesale sales team and customers to collect past-due payments when they occur 
  • Downloading from the bank and reconciling deposits from ecommerce sales 
  • Reconciling merchant payment platform transactions monthly 
  • Reconciling Amazon seller accounts semi-monthly
• Support of Sales Tax compliance, using automated sales tax processing software 
• Supporting the monthly GL closing process 
• Special projects focused on expense analysis and financial reporting, as needed ad hoc 

The selected candidate will also possess: 

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices 
• High degree of proficiency in Excel, including Excel pivot table and vlookup functions 
• Strong initiative to troubleshoot, problem solve, and innovate to meet growth needs of company 
• Desire to understand and work with teams across the company, including manufacturing, creative, sales and marketing 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
• Confidence and willingness to ask questions where needed to ensure accuracy and consistency of work product 
• Desire to learn within the context of a growing company 
• Strong analytical and reporting skills for special projects, as they arise 
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is desirable
• Previous bookkeeping or general accounting experienced preferred 
• Proficiency in double entry accounting required 
• General tech savviness, as needed at a growing e-commerce company 
• Proficiency in Mac Operating System, DropBox, Google Suite 
• Comfort learning and using difference Ecommerce and digital payment platforms, such as Shopify, Shoppay, Stripe and Amazon 
• Familiarity with Quickbooks Desktop preferred 
• Familiarity in working with multiple privately held legal entities under operating under different legal umbrellas 
• Accounts Payable experience preferred
• Accounts Receivable experience preferred, but not required
