Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcasting and Communications, UVM is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications that will assist in covering all of the University of Vermont's 18 Division I teams. The chosen candidate will be primary contact for women's soccer, women's basketball & swimming and diving. The nine-month position will serve as the liaison between the media, student-athletes and coaches from August 5-May 23.

• Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, roster and biography maintenance, scheduling interviews and media opportunities, maintaining and creating content for sport-specific social media platforms, supervising and staffing home events, game operations and statistics keeping, dispersing relevant and accurate information to coaches, opponents and media members prior to and after each competition and organizing and archiving photography images.
• Work in concert with various administrators, coaching staffs, athletic marketing, ticket personnel, Vermont Sport Properties, constituents on and off campus.
• Identify, promote and disseminate information about assigned UVM athletics teams to media outlets (local, regional and national).
• Candidates should have experience working in a collegiate or professional athletic communications office.
• Candidates should have experience with in-game statistical software (Genius & StatCrew).
• Candidates should be well-versed in social media and are expected to curate posts for their assigned teams
• Proficiency in writing and interviewing with knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop is preferred.
