Join Our Team as a CDL-A Local Driver / Yard Switcher! Are you looking for a rewarding CDL-A driver job? As a dedicated local driver / yard switcher, you'll play a vital role in our customers' transportation needs by ensuring the efficient movement of trailers in and out of the docks at their locations. This position offers predictable hours, so you can count on a reliable paycheck each week. • Competitive Pay: Earn an average of $1,425 per week, totaling approximately $74,100 annually.
• Starting Rate: $30 per hour with overtime pay at $45 per hour for hours over 40 per week.

  • Typical Workweek: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Home Every Night: Spend more time with your familyno long hauls! What You'll Do:
    • Drive with Purpose: 75% of your time will be spent switching and 25% on local driving.
    • Local Deliveries: Safely transport aluminum and plastic extrusions using curtainside flatbeds or vans - all within 50 miles of Louisville.
    • Flatbed Operations: When operating a flatbed, you'll move products between our nearby plants (about a mile apart).
    • No Tarping Required: Focus on your driving - securement straps provided for easy and safe cargo handling. Your Equipment:

          • Must live within a 75-mile radius
          • Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
          • Must have Class A CDL
          • Must be 21 years of age or older
          • No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
          • No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
          • No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
          • No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
          • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
          • No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years Essential Functions:
            • Open/Close trailer door - force requirement: 46 lbs
            • Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs
            • Perform pre-trip inspections
            • Drive
            • Regular predictable attendance
            • Frequent bending for placement of wheel chocks
            • Safely enter/exit yard tractor 100+ times per shift
            • Lifting/opening trailer doors
            • Sliding trailer tandems when necessary
            • Safely maneuvering equipment with good backing skills
