Job Description

J.D. McCarty is seeking a COTA who is looking for a challenging and fulfilling opportunity.  Our pediatric rehabilitation hospital serves children with developmental disabilities from birth to 21 years of age.  You will have the opportunity to work with inpatient and outpatients in areas of Sensory motor activities, Perceptual motor coordination, Oral motor and feeding skills, Adaptive equipment/splinting, Specialized seating and more.

Salary Starting at: $60,000 based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Implements and executes an established patient treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Communicates with patient, families, and other members of the team.
• Provides timely written documentation per facility and department requirements.
• Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis.
• Achieves quality patient care through interdisciplinary communication.
• Provides supervision to OTA students as assigned.
• Maintains current AOTA certification and Oklahoma licensure.

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Oklahoma State License or ability to obtain
• Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
• Experience with and/or knowledge of the pediatric population

About J.D. McCarty Center:

J.D. McCarty Center is a unique 36 bed pediatric rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities birth to 21 years of age. Patients are admitted for a 30-day evaluation during which they are assigned a treatment team consisting of nursing unit, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutritional services, social services, psychological services, behavioral analysis, and recreational therapy. Our 80-acre s campus includes an on-site elementary, intermediate, and high school which is staffed by Norman Public School teachers. Patients may continue treatment needs beyond the 30-days as an in-patient in habilitation status based upon progress or placement needs. We are a tobacco and vape free facility.
