Chief Data & Analytics Officer
SWBC is seeking a talented individual who will have the primary enterprise accountability of the organization’s data and analytics (D&A) assets to drive value for business stakeholders. This includes creation and management of data and analytics strategy, and execution of related programs and practices that drive measurable business outcomes. This role involves establishing, leading and operating the D&A function; developing talent and mature D&A culture; building trust and managing data; and evolving technology capabilities.
Essential duties include the following:
- Maintains authority and accountability for exploiting the value of enterprise information assets, and of the analytics used to render insights for decision making, automated decisions and augmentation of human performance. Be the corporate leader of data-driven insights and use cases that help support the exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities.
- Builds partnerships with executive leadership and divisional leaders to establish the vision for managing data as a business asset — to exploit data and analytics capabilities to maximize the value derived from data assets.
- Defines data and analytics vision, strategy, technology and associated practices. Lead the creation (and assure the ongoing relevance) of the organization’s data and analytics strategy.
- Institutes an enterprise operating model for data and analytics that is consistent with the capabilities and competencies required to execute the strategy and fulfill the business reporting needs.
- Fosters the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across the enterprise. Leads these transformation efforts by developing D&A talent and maturing the capability of the organization.
- Oversees delivery models, technology, methods and practices for creation of data products and to ensure consistent application and use of data and analytics solutions.
- Establishes and maintains trust in data assets by instituting governance mechanisms for data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications and automated decision making.
- Leads data-driven innovation for the enterprise, including investigation, adoption and exploitation of artificial intelligence.
- Leads research, strategy creation and development of new data products or services to expand markets, monetize data (directly and indirectly) and impact enterprise profitability.
- Oversees the development and deployment of the enterprise’s data and analytics platform and solutions for digital business.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA in Data Science, Business Analytics, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Certifications in data governance, analytics, or AI (such as Certified Analytics Professional or DAMA Certification) preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in data management, business intelligence, analytics, or related fields, with at least five (5) years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading large-scale data initiatives and transforming data into business value.
- Strong experience in data governance, data architecture, and data strategy development.
- Expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, and cloud-based data platforms is essential.
- Broad understanding of the full range of strategic data and analytics capabilities, and the ability to communicate these concepts, methods and techniques in ways easily understood by other stakeholders.
- Ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options.
- Ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT and quant stakeholders.
- Advance knowledge of business process.
- Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- Advanced organizational planning and multi-tasking skills.
- Advanced collecting and analyzing data skills.
- Proficient negotiation skills.
- Advanced problem solving, managing priorities, and deadlines skills.

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of SQL and SQL development tools.
- Able to travel locally or nationally by car or plane.
