Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

Location: Fort McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join the Federal Governments Healthcare team at Fort McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing mental health services to military personnel and their families. Your primary focus will be on assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychological disorders, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders related to military service and family dynamics. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary setting to ensure comprehensive care for our service members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting thorough psychological assessments and evaluations to determine diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Providing evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Collaborating with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate treatment plans and ensure integrated care.
• Developing and implementing crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
• Participating in case conferences and treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment planning.
• Educating patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources.
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Adhering to ethical and legal standards in the provision of psychological services and patient care.

Qualifications:

• Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association-accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
• Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
• Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
• Licensure: Current, complete, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands.
• Experience in providing clinical services in a healthcare or military setting preferred.
• Knowledge of military culture and experience working with military populations is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
