Job Description

Our client, a trade association based in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Director of Government Affairs to be a key player on their growing team!

About the Job:

• Monitor and track federal and state policy issues, developing strategies to address the impact on members.
• Spearhead various committees and working groups to ensure the membership's priorities and interests are represented.
• Coordinate meetings to collaborate with members to better understand industry needs and create consensus on policy positions.
• Prepare comments, remarks, and other communications for hearings and meetings, actively participating in industry coalitions to advance policy priorities.
• Lead all advocacy efforts related to state and federal policy issues using a variety of resources to gain traction.
• Promote and negotiate industry positions with policymakers and manage congressional relationships to enhance the association's reach.

About You:

• 5+ years of environmental, climate, energy, manufacturing, or related policy experience required.
• A bachelor's degree is required; experience in a trade association is a plus!
• Fantastic ability to build effective relationships with members and external parties.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work 100% on-site in the Arlington, VA office; opportunities to travel.

Compensation/Benefits:

• $140K-$160K, depending on experience.
• Employer contributions to 401(k) and Roth(k) plans.
• Extensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
