Job Description

The Gas Station Attendant is responsible for customer service, collecting payments, maintaining the cleanliness of the station, shelving products, tracking inventory, and preparing for food service.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Gas Station Attendant holds the following Duties and Responsibilities. Parkside Petroleum discourages the ‘it’s not my job’ mentality and encourages employees to ‘work outside the box’. Because of this, duties and responsibilities are subject to change pending time of year and demands of other areas.

· Demonstrate a positive customer service focus at all times

· Demonstrate teamwork in all interactions with coworkers

Cashier Duties

· Greet, interact, and assist customers with the selection of merchandise

· Monitor customers and assist the store with loss prevention

· Display, organize, and restock products in the store for customers to locate easily

· Manage monetary transactions for all products and services

· Balance cashier drawer at the start and end of each shift using daily record slip

· Maintain the outlook of the store through dusting and cleaning in accordance with the daily cleaning sheet

· Receive and check-in inventory from vendors

· Take and Maintain Alcohol & Tobacco Training Certificate—Every two years

Food Service

· Set up food/beverage service, kitchen, equipment, and utensils under detailed instruction and in accordance with specific area needs

· Follow prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food

· Clean, wash, and maintain work areas (including floors, facilities, pans, and equipment)

· Collect and place garbage in designated containers

· Most attendants will receive person in charge training. Once the training is complete, the attendant will act as the person in charge (PIC). The person in charge will demonstrate, describe, explain, identify, or relate all the items listed on the PIC duties list during an inspection as it relates to the food operation and execution of the duties of the person in charge.

Qualifications

The Gas Station Attendant should have the following qualifications:

· Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· Excellent customer service skills

· Exceptional work ethic and strict adherence to company policy

· Ability to work flexible hours and multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented

· Ability to work in a team and independently with minimum supervision

· Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks given

· Willingness to learn about new items and procedures quickly

Required Experience and Training

· Ability to lift 50 pounds

· Should have driver’s license and obtain transportation to and from facility

· Will need personal phone to clock in and out

· Alcohol & Tobacco Certificates

· Food Service “Person in Charge” training

· Underground Storage Tank (UST) Class C Operator Training

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
