We are seeking a Haul Truck Driver- CDL Class B Required to join our team! You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).

What you will do:

Do you have experience driving heavy equipment? We are looking for a driver to help grow our Savannah, GA market. For our Savannah, GA location, the Haul Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating and servicing the local and regional business customers from a Marshcat location using a company provided truck. Driver, maintains, drives, and operates equipment while frequently interacting with customers. Schedule made in advance.

Your responsibilities:

• Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
• Load and unload cargo
• Properly track and document activity log
• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
• Inspect truck before and after trip
• Establishes and maintains good customer relations. Listens to and helps resolve service inquiries and complaints.
• Provides timely communication back to manager or to the customer’s assigned Marshcat sales associate regarding any changes or issues experienced by the customer.
• Performs inspections per operating procedures.
• Maintains all required vehicle documents by ensuring they are properly completed. Ensures that vehicle manifests, vehicle placards and strapping at all times comply with Marshcat safety standards and all government regulations including, but not limited to, those issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections documenting deficiencies; ensures all safety items are in good working order.
• Strictly observes all safety rules and promptly reports any accidents or injuries to management.

Qualifications :

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 21 years old
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Valid USDOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (card).
• Ability to operate a vehicle with an air brake system (no air brake restrictions on CDL).
• May consider individuals with the ability to acquire the skill to operate air brake systems as a condition of employment.
• Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5)
• Must have a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions; OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last 3 years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accidents in the last 3 years.
• In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited school or a combination of driving and prior specific experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and comprehend material data sheets.
• Ability to clearly and effectively speak to customers and employees as well as legibly write.
• Must have a high attention to detail.
• Ability to safely operate other material handling equipment.
• Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure to include whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic mathematical knowledge; ability to calculate ratios and percentages with a calculator.
• Abides by safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position’s responsibilities.
