Position Summary & Responsibilities: This position serves as the Information Technology Director and manages the IT functions for KSDE. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of IT strategic plans, policies, applications, computer services, network communications, and proper security controls in concert with KSDE goals and objectives.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Experience may be substituted for education as deemed relevant by the agency.
Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a technical discipline;
- Effective interpersonal, leadership, management and supervisory skills;
- Ability to write and speak effectively;
- Knowledge of voice and data communications, computer processing, telecommunications and database management systems; and
- Knowledge of techniques, procedures and methods relating to computer systems and application program activities.
Preferred Experience: - A successful track record of increasingly responsible and complex information technology experience; and
- Professional background including experience planning and managing strategic and operational projects.
