Position Summary
Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will maintain the electrical systems of the facility in a safe working condition. Performs maintenance and urgent corrective and routine repairs for the electrical systems/equipment. Installs and repairs electrical wiring, fixtures, controls equipment, etc. Fulfills other assigned responsibilities, duties and tasks of them not specifically listed within this job description and as directed by employee’s supervisor.
· Repairs and maintains electrical systems and equipment throughout the complex. This includes all lighting, panels, receptacles, switches, etc.
· Uses hospital wiring diagrams and electrical drawings to diagnose and repair any problem associated with the electrical distribution system.
· Makes all necessary arrangements to satisfy all teleconferencing requirements (audio & video)
· Maintains all hospital TV’s and in-house cabling system.
· Installs and repairs all nurse call systems, code alarm systems paging and related systems.
· Services and test runs emergency generators, transfer switches and related emergency equipment.
· Repairs and maintains all tools and test equipment.
· Orders all parts and supplies necessary for electric department needs.
· Picks up supplies at local vendors is necessary.
· Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
· Fabricate parts needed if not commercially available.
· Installs, repairs and maintains communication cables, power distribution cables, audio and video cables as needed.
· Installs, replaces or repairs fire alarm systems and related equipment.
· Maintains all records and documents of emergency generator test results as required by city and state Fire Marshall, our insurance carrier, and Joint Commission.
· Maintains all records of fire alarm test results monthly, quarterly, and annually for regulatory agencies.
· Keeps accurate daily log.
· Responsible for minor repairs to equipment, structures, and environmental systems.
· Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles including cleaning, checking fluids, battery, lights, lubrication and general overall condition.
· Check and make T-stat adjustments.
· Check and repair/replace and mount televisions.
· Changes filters on all heating and cooling units.
· Responsible for snow/ice removal and other grounds work as instructed by Supervisor.
· Clean and maintain equipment rooms and shop areas.
· Replace all burned out incandescent and florescent lamps.
· Replace broken parking gate arms.
· Make minor repairs to nurse call system and tube system.
· Replace broken belts on air handler units as needed.
· Reset and check out tripped circuit breakers in electrical panels.
· Acknowledge and reset fire alarm system.
· Repair closing and latching of fire doors.
· Keep all sink drains, toilets and roof drains open.
· Repair leaking valves and faucets.
· Retrieve and repair patient electrical and mechanical beds and related equipment
· .Repair wheelchairs.
· Replace or repair electrical plugs, switches, receptacles, and florescent light ballast.
· Assist in construction projects as duties require, i.e. painting, patching or demolition.
· Assist with moving of office furnishings.
· Replace ceiling tiles as needed.
· Keeps daily log updated at all times.
· Documents all information required by preventative maintenance program.
· Records all medical gas readings as required.
· Records all converter temperatures as required.
· Checks and records all hot water tank temperatures.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure appropriateness and continuity of care for the patients of Sovah Health Danville.
Troubleshooting motor controls, single and three phase electrical power distribution and industrial electronics.
Licenses:
Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Minimum Work Experience
Journeyman/Master Certification or minimum of ten (10) years in commercial/industrial electrical work.
