Radiation Oncologist Opportunity in Yankton, South Dakota Location: Yankton, SD Nearest Major Cities: Sioux Falls, SD (approximately 80 miles north); Omaha, NE (approximately 150 miles south) Position Details: Employment Type: Full-Time Position Type: Permanent Practice Type: Radiation Oncology Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Job Description: Seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologist to join a highly integrated Radiation Oncology Service Line team of seven physicians in Yankton, SDPractice Details: Current Facility Features: - Advanced treatment modalities including Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and 3D Conformal External Beam Radiation Therapy - Utilization of RayStation and MIM for treatment planning - Equipped with an Elekta Infinity Accelerator and Mosaiq Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system - Highly regarded care team with excellent patient satisfaction scores - Market-competitive compensation and a generous benefits package, including loan assistance Future Facility Expansion: - A new comprehensive cancer center is scheduled to open in early 2026 - The newly renovated facility will offer: - Medical oncology services - Radiation oncology with a newly installed Varian TrueBeam system - Chemotherapy infusion - Clinical research opportunities - On-site pharmacy and laboratory services - Chapel/meditation room - Wig salon - Genetic counseling and additional support services Medical Group Radiation Oncology Service Line: Integration and Collaboration: - Single Radiation Oncology EMR and Treatment Planning Software across all six sites - Opportunities to participate in service line committees, including: - Chart Rounds - Multidisciplinary Conferences across various disease sites - Clinical Quality Review - Service Line Steering Committees - Cancer Committee Call and Support: - 1:8 service line weekend call rotation, with first call managed by the Cancer Institute Navigation Center - 24/7 oncology nursing first-call coverage through the navigation center Comprehensive Cancer Program: - Includes services such as Medical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Hematology, Transplant & Cellular Therapy, Comprehensive Breast Surgery, Cancer Research, Palliative Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and more About the Area: Yankton, South Dakota, is a growing community offering a unique blend of indoor and outdoor recreational activities, a strong education system, and ample economic opportunities.
