We are excited to invite applications for the position of Oracle Application Express (APEX) Developer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team for a long-term project (5+ years) focused on serving federal government clients.
About the Role:
As an Oracle APEX Developer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining APEX-based software applications. Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing business requirements, designing efficient solutions using the APEX tool suite, and troubleshooting and modernizing existing applications. You will collaborate closely with project leadership and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications.
- Capture business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Communicate effectively with project leadership and team members.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing applications for improved performance.
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and technical staff.
- Adhere to best practices and standards in application development.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or green card holder who has lived in the U.S. continuously for more than 5 years (no H1B or H4 visa).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing Oracle APEX applications.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in Oracle APEX development (version 19+).
- Proficient in:
- Oracle 19+ databases
- PL/SQL packages, functions, and stored procedures
- JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, XML, HTML5, CSS
- REST-based Web Services
- Familiarity with Oracle application configuration, SQL, and performance tuning for custom extensions.
- Ability to analyze and refactor existing code to enhance performance and maintainability.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and the ability to support all phases, including operational support.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience developing APEX applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with Oracle Application Express (APEX).
- Prior production support and software operations and maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with version control systems (SVN, Git) and project management tools like Jira.
Preferred Skills:
- Agile Project Management experience is a plus.
- Scrum certification is desirable.
- Oracle and/or APEX certifications.
- Experience using front-end web development tools with APEX.
- Knowledge of Agile development and DevSecOps practices.
