Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate  Oral Surgeon to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face. This includes performing complex surgical procedures such as extractions, dental implants, corrective jaw surgeries, and facial reconstruction. The Oral Surgeon will collaborate closely with dental professionals and other medical specialists to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis and Treatment:

    • Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with oral, dental, and facial conditions.
    • Treat conditions such as jaw misalignment, oral cancers, facial trauma, TMJ disorders, and congenital deformities (e.g., cleft palate).
  • Surgical Procedures:

    • Perform a variety of oral and maxillofacial surgeries, including tooth extractions (e.g., wisdom teeth), dental implants, jaw realignment, and corrective facial surgeries.
    • Utilize advanced techniques for facial reconstruction, including repairs following trauma or cancer treatment.
  • Anesthesia and Pain Management:

    • Administer local and general anesthesia for surgical procedures and ensure the safety of patients throughout the surgery.
    • Monitor and manage pain and post-operative recovery, providing detailed aftercare instructions.
  • Collaboration and Consultation:

    • Work closely with dentists, orthodontists, general surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
    • Provide second opinions and consultations for complex cases, ensuring the best surgical outcomes.
  • Patient Education and Support:

    • Educate patients about their oral health, treatment options, and expected recovery timelines.
    • Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and their families before, during, and after surgery.
  • Follow-Up Care:

    • Conduct follow-up visits to monitor healing and address any post-operative complications.
    • Provide continuous care, ensuring the best recovery outcomes for patients.
  • Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and post-operative care.
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical guidelines in all aspects of patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited dental school.
    • Completion of a 4-6 year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Licensing and Certification:

    • Board certification or eligibility for board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
    • Valid state dental license and authorization to perform surgery.
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience in performing a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgeries.
    • Previous experience in a hospital or surgical center is preferred.
