JOB TITLE: Research Assistant 2
DEPARTMENT: Claims
REPORTS TO: Brooke Reid
JOB DUTIES: Assists with a variety of clerical and data entry projects.
Responsibilities Include: - Create and do upkeep on new and existing filing systems
- Handle and prioritize projects as assigned by management
- Must meet the department's quality and production standards for this job, as provided on the work standards grid
- Must multi-task projects assigned by management
- Must be cross-trained in many areas of operation
- Handle simple claims processing such as resubmits
- Strong understanding of department workflows
- Assist Level 1 Research Assistants
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education & Experience - HS or GED
- Healthcare background preferred
- Must have worked in Level 1 Position for a minimum of 12 months
- Must meet all level 2 qualifications, on average, during the previous 12 month period
Mental/Visual Concentration or Manual Dexterity - Requires normal concentration
- Easily learned, simple movements
Computer Operations - Must be PC literate
- Typing scores of 35 WMP
- Proficient in 10 key
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge required
Physical Work Environment - Normal degree of physical effort in typical office environment with comfortable, constant temperatures and absence of objectionable elements
- May be subject to interruptions
- May be required to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
- May need to work offsite with minimal travel
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as business needs requires
- Meets established attendance and punctuality guidelines
