The Game Business and Esports BS program is seeking faculty to teach courses in game business. We are interested in candidates who can support the Project and Portfolio VI: Game Business and Esports course which synthesizes the skills students have developed throughout the degree program. In this course, students will plan, create, manage, and execute an event. They will develop and implement all aspects of the event, including hosting, streaming, producing, and marketing the event to augment revenue opportunities. Students may leverage work they generated during prior project and portfolio courses into the implementation of their event. Course Directors may be required to teach both on-campus and online. All positions are full time in Winter Park, FL. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create an environment of learning through effective teaching skills, maintain student-centered focus, and update curriculum to keep current and relevant to industry standards. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning. Create learning activities, including assignments, tests, quizzes and labs, and assess student outcomes in a timely manner through effective assessment and constructive feedback to students to support the learning process. Perform lectures for campus courses, and hold scheduled virtual course meetings for online courses. Teaching will be conducted through on-campus and online delivery. Interact positively with diverse student populations; provide all students with equal opportunities for learning. Demonstrate a commitment to the industry, maintain knowledge and skill relevancy through continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan. Other Responsibilities: Adheres to the policies and procedures of Full Sail University. Maintains strict confidentiality of student and company information. Demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization. Adheres to company attendance standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee the integrity of curriculum and degree learning outcomes. Competencies: Knowledge of planning, organizing, and executing events, specifically within the gaming and esports context. Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch, YouTube), broadcasting tools, and techniques. Understanding of the business aspects of gaming, including monetization strategies, sponsorships, partnerships, and revenue models. Experience in digital marketing, social media strategies, and campaign building. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to guide students in organizing and executing their projects. Awareness of the legal and ethical considerations in esports, such as intellectual property rights, contracts, and fair play. Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Keynote/PowerPoint and Outlook. Proficiency in online learning, specifically ability to navigate, populate, manage, and assess materials in a learning management system. Ability to provide useful feedback. Education and/or Experience: The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four (4) years related and verifiable work experience and required to hold a Bachelor's or Master's (preferred), in digital media, marketing, business, broadcast production, management, etc. from an accredited college or university. The candidate should also demonstrate professional experience in Esports/Gaming industry with a game publisher/developer, esports organization, or through an agency. They should have hands-on experience in organizing and managing conventions, esports or gaming events, from small-scale webinars or tournaments to larger productions. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: n/a Skills: Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and manage teams, both in an educational setting and in the context of large-scale event planning. Teaching and Mentoring: Ability to effectively teach and mentor students, guiding them through complex projects and helping them apply knowledge to practical scenarios. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to help lead group dynamics, explain concepts clearly, and provide constructive feedback. Environmental Factors/Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office and classroom environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active student and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system.
