Job Overview - Staff Accountant - 33117
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of an organization by performing a variety of accounting tasks. This role includes managing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and assisting with audits and tax filings. The Staff Accountant ensures that financial records are accurate and comply with relevant regulations and standards. They often work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure smooth and efficient financial processes. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software are essential for success in this role.
* Collect mail and deposit customer payments.
* Enter daily cash deposits and credit card/Stripe settlements.
* Generate customer invoices and manage accounts receivables.
* Manage accounts receivable aging.
* Reconcile bank accounts.
* Record and reconcile fixed asset and intangible asset accounts.
* Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
* Assist with annual financial statement audits and special projects as required.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience that aligns with the job responsibilities.
* 1-2 years of progressive experience in a similar role.
* Experience with daily accounting activities and account reconciliations.
* Understanding of GAAP principles.
* CPA certification preferred, but not mandatory.
* Experience with NetSuite is an advantage.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong mathematical skills and high attention to detail.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Effective time management and the ability to work independently.
* Capacity to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
